Here are some selects from my shoot in Joshua Tree. This is Rudy (and his wife Aurora… keep scrolling). THEY ARE THE BEST! They’ve lived in Joshua tree for over 65 years. It was refreshing to hear about how it used to be, before instagram, before paved roads and before mcdonalds moved in down the street. Its still easy to see and feel the small town life in Joshua Tree, evident by our rad little house we rented for the weekend (also keep scrolling), but it was nice to meet someone who has been there before it became the hip place to photograph, or the trendy place to vacation (I am guilty of both). He was the sweetest man ever and was nice enough to let Veronica and I into his home, show us jewelry he’s made, the pigeons he’s trained and let me snap some shots of him. Enjoy.
This is his back yard.
These were old horse stables. They no longer have horses, but when they did they had a race track to go along with them!
They were all smiles and laughs until I asked them to actually pose for a shot. But there is still something I love about this shot.
Veronica and I stayed in this rad little house about 2 miles from where Rudy lived.
I also managed to snap a couple other shots while exploring the desert.
